If you haven’t heard there’s a new movie coming out this Friday called “Finding Dory“, and we’re super excited about it, there’s even a character named Destiny! So I’m putting a spin on one of our favorite breakfasts using Nature’s Harvest® bread to make Shells in the Sand to celebrate.
My kids used to call this eggs in a nest, but when we picked up a loaf of Nature’s Harvest® bread and saw that they had Dory on the packaging they wanted to make it sea worthy. I got a shell cookie cutter and “shells in the sand” was created. It also made me look at the packaging a littler closer. They have multiple breads, but all of them have at least 8 grams of whole grains, and no high fructose corn syrup, and no artificial flavors or colors. Nature’s Harvest® also has a Make a Splash with Whole Grains Sweepstakes. Lots of different prizes and it’s open till July 7th so enter today.
Nature’s Harvest® Bread (we like the Butter Wheat)
Shell cookie cutter
Salt and Pepper to taste
Step 1: Take your bread and cut out the shell shape in the center
Step 2: Spray your pan with cooking spray and use medium to high heat on the stove
Step 3: Place the bread in the pan and crack the egg so it fills in the shell shape
Step 4: Allow the egg to cook to your liking (my kids like it a little running)
Step 5: Flip the bread and finish cooking your egg
Step 6: Take the bread shell and toast it on each side
Step 7: Add some jelly stripes to the shell
Step 8: Enjoy
We make this multiple times a week and practice speaking whale to get ready for the movie. It’s quick, easy, healthy, filling and I know the kids will eat it. Sometimes they eat 2, which makes me happy because they really are getting a solid meal with whole grains.
Tell me are you excited for “Finding Dory”? Will you be making Shells in the Sand this summer?
Disclosure: Nature’s Harvest® bread provided me with information, coupons, gift pack, and a gift card so I could share my thoughts and information about Nature’s Harvest® bread with you. All thoughts are my own.
