I recently gave a recap of #SweetSuite14 the party that kicked off #BBNYC on Thursday night and decided I would do a separate post for all the activities that happened on 2nd day of Blogger Bash.
We started the morning off with a Bat-tastic breakfast in honor of Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham video game. I quickly realized that video games are not my forte, but loved trying to figure out how to fly Batman in space and shoot my missiles at the Joker.
The highlight of the day for me was attending the Media Panel. Listening to Ciaran Blumenfeld (Hashtracking.com, Momfluential), Deborah Mitchell (Deborah Mitchell Media Associates), Samantha Meiler (NickMom), and Samantha Murphy Kelly (Mashable) was inspiring and educational.
My 3 favorite bits of advice:
- Traditional media will always be relevant and work in tandem with social.
- Look deeper; reach out and engage with people
- Make the Hashtag work for you
Johnny Rockets was the lunch sponsor so I was looking forward to getting a milkshake and watching a ketchup artist at work. She was so talented and did some great NYC landmarks. My ketchup skills were not so good, but I was inspired to make my own milkshake creation when I got home.
Babypalooza was the next event and I enjoyed learning about the newest Britax car seat Frontier. No longer do you need to put your full weight on the seat to snap it in. Joovy was on site with lots of fun items and JJcole was showing off their newest design for a stroller muff. The best part was listening to Anne Geddes talk about her working with babies. I love the under the sea theme she’s recently created..
The day wasn’t over we still had the #EAEvents where Cover Girl gave mini makeovers and I got to play with a Wubble Ball and meet Smokey the Bear (he’s turning 75 this year)!
Next was hanging out with NickMom and I won’t lie I needed a little time to recharge my batteries (both personally and electronically) so I popped in for a quick moment to check out the shirtless fireman and then headed out to grad a tea with friends.
I returned refreshed, recharged and ready for fun. KidzVuz was having a Back to School Event #KidzVuzBTS. This event allowed attendees to bring their kids ages 6 and up and it was a blast watching them check out all that was around.
I’m obsessed with the Lands’ End fall collection and love their tote and backpacks. They also had WWE stars on hand to meet families and take photos and Star Stable was giving the girls wonderful pigtails. I loved seeing The Broadway League encouraging parents to take their kids to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Learning about School Specialty was great and I had fun watching the kids record their opinions about the latest toys at the KidzVuz Booth.
Overall the conference was a great experience. For a 1st time attempt I think they did a great job. I made a lot of new friends and met a ton of great sponsors. To me the best part was getting to hang out with my peeps and finding my tweet on the wall! I will totally attend Blogger Bash next year and can’t wait to see what they’ve got planned!
