I love when someone shows up holding a bottle of Limoncello so this year I decided to figure out how to make it myself and after a little experimenting I think we found our perfect recipe!

Supplies needed:
Grain alcohol (not Vodka there is a difference) I used Everclear
Lemons (about 8-10)
Glass bowl or pitcher
Peeler
Funnel
Cling Wrap
Simple Syrup (water and sugar)
Glass jars
Step 1: Clean the lemons. If you can buy organic that best, but I used my Norwex Fruit and Veggie scrubber and have no worries about any chemicals being left on them.
Step 2: Peel the peels off and be careful not to get any of the white pith.
Step 3: Put the peels in a glass pitcher or large glass bowl and add the grain alcohol.
Step 4: Cover the pitcher or bowl with cling wrap and place in a cool place for 28 days. You should see a difference in the color over the course of the days turning into a beautiful yellow
Step 5: Strain the lemon peels from the grain alcohol
Step 6: Make your simple syrup -3 cups sugar 2 ½ cups water
Step 7: Add the simple syrup to your alcohol and stir
Step 8: Allow to sit for 3-4 days and taste. You may want to make it sweeter or it may be perfect
Step 9: Then use a funnel and pour into your bottles. If you got the ones with the heat seal use a blow dryer and seal them up!
Step 10: Serve chilled right out of the freezer!
