Halloween is such a fun holiday for us. We all love to be a part of the fun and what’s better our little town, Maplewood, goes all out.
The main street becomes a huge area for kids and families to trick or treat and show off all their costumes. It’s also a time for all of us to see our friends and because it happens between 3-5 it’s still light outside. Which makes it a little safer. It does get crowded, but as long as you stay together and get there early you’ll have fun.
Now the fun doesn’t stop there, we usually head to Chipotle for $3 burritos and then back home to hand out candy and allow the kids to go trick or treating in the neighborhood. I’m lucky that my parents come up so they hand out the candy while we go door to door.
It was a lot of fun this year since Eleanor really got what was going on, Camden was too funny with wanting to go into everyone’s house, but the best part was when he picked an Almond Joy and refused to put it in his bin. He carried it around for 30 minutes and didn’t want the night to stop.
I loved watching the kids say trick or treat. Seeing Camden come so far in his speech has been amazing, and of course always thanking the neighbors and wishing them a Happy Halloween. I also need to give a big shout out to Mike who made Eleanor an awesome Hiccup (How to Train you Dragon 2) costume.
I would love to hear what you did for Halloween or any special traditions you have!
