I love having my camera close by at all times. It’s almost like a fashion accessory to me, but lets be honest cameras are missing something to make them well, fashionable. So I decided to do something about it! You can’t change the body or lens of a camera, but you can change the camera strap.
DIY Camera Strap
I see cute straps sometimes, and I thought I can make something like that. I had some scarfs that I’ve not worn in years, and then I was in the Dollar Tree and saw these adorable star scarfs and knew they were perfect for the summer and just my style.

How to make a scarf Camera strap
Step 1: I cut about 12 inches off the scarf to make it the length I wanted (This is personal as some people like short and some like long)
Step 2: Pull the fabric through the D ring
Step 3: Fold over the fabric and sew 3 lines
Step 4: Next sew an X (you want to make sure it’s secure enough to hold your camera!)
Step 5: Repeat on the other side
Step 6: Attached the circle ring and lobster clasp to your camera

Step 7: Clip the scarf on and rock you’re photo style
What I love is how easy it is to switch out the scarfs. I’m also going on the search for more scarfs in different colors and designs so watch out goodwill!
This was a very easy project and even a novice sewer can do it. Time wise I would say it’s about a half hour, which isn’t too bad and it totally gives my outfit a little something extra.
I would love to see how you rock your photo style. Please share your scarf camera straps with me!

So much cuter than a plain black strap! What a great idea!

This is such a great idea. I'm a professional photographer and hate the look and feel of the standard strap. This one looks fun and so much more comfy on my neck!
huh. now THAT is a great idea.
It's so nice and soft. I really do love it. Thanks for checking it out
Thanks so much and I love all the different scarfs you can find!
It's so comfy Erica. What I also love is how I can switch it out so easily so depending on what you're photographing or doing it can be super personal!
Super cute! I bet it is more comfortable than the standard strap too. Problem is I don't sew š Do you think hand sewing it would work?

This is really cute. I love taking my DSLR to events but I hate looking like a tourist with my big Canon strap!
What a fantastic idea! I love that you can switch the looks any time you want. I also hate the feel of the standard straps around my neck so this would be so much more comfy! Thank you so much for linking this up to Much Ado About Monday!

I bet you could hand sew this. Just make sure it's really secure and maybe use dental floss instead of regular thread. It's a stronger hold!
It's such a cute accessory and it really makes me feel stylish, you should try it!
It really is so comfy to wear, and I'm scouring the goodwills for all different styles of scarfs now!
This is so awesome! Thanks for sharing š
