We celebrated another Easter in Delaware this year, and packed in tons of fun. One of the things I love about going to my parents house for Easter is the large yard and memories of my childhood.
Friday night Mike and I were able to go out with my friend Denise for dinner. She was also my high school English/Drama teacher, so it’s fun to catch up and I always walk away having learned something new. I feel very lucky to call her a friend, and always look forward to her stories.

The fun on Saturday started out with an egg hunt in Harrington, but sadly we were 10 minutes late so all the eggs were found. The kids were good sports, and the older kids who were hunting eggs saw that the kids didn’t have any and offered them their eggs. It was a lesson of kindness for my kids and helped to restore my faith in future generations. The parents didn’t ask the kids to give up their eggs, they saw 2 smaller kids with empty buckets and filled them with, with both eggs and kindness. Of course there was also an Easter bunny so I had to snap a photo.
Our weekend was filled with lots of outdoor fun. Between the Crazy Cart, PlasmaCar and our Blitz Bubbles (the Blitz Bubbles Flurry is amazing) we enjoyed fun in the sun and yard.
Easter morning the kids woke to find baskets of fun and headed off to find the eggs we dyed the day before. It takes me back to my childhood because my Dad hides the eggs in the same place he did when I was a kid.
Once all the eggs were found we got dressed for the family picture in front of the bunny and then headed to the backyard to find even more eggs. I’m so thankful that my mom saved a lot of my special dresses because Eleanor is wearing a dress my Mom made me. She felt so special knowing that Lovey made it and I wore it that it made it even prettier to her. Plus I’m blown away that my mom hand-smocked it, and it even has pockets.
Of course not all moments were happy, as we had to explain to Camden you can’t find eggs if you follow your sister, and my nephew was just too cute to watch picking up eggs.
We had a delicious supper together, but we all know dessert is the best part and this year Eleanor and Lovey made the Bunny cake. My mom has been making this cake since I was a little girl, so it was fun to watch Eleanor ice and decorate her first bunny cake.

It was another wonderful holiday spent with family making memories and having fun is the best way to celebrate!
