For the past few years I’ve been wanting to attend a blog conference called SNAP. This conference is different from other’s because it focuses on DIY and craft bloggers. So this year I decided to give it a try.

Like past years it was in Salt Lake City, Utah and at The Little America hotel. I was going to this conference knowing only 1 person in real life (Simply Darrling) and a little nervous and excited. I had decided to room with 3 random people to keep the cost down and we were all SNAP Newbies.

I hit the Jackpot with roomies (Bright Green Door, Slice of Southern Pie and Hobnob Market) because we all got along great, and were open to teaching each other things and just having fun together.

The sponsors were awesome. The title sponsor was Chinet and I loved that I got to take an intro to Calligraphy class with them, and give a new skill a try. It’s not easy, but I like learning new things so I’m excited to practice.

Michaels was also there, and you know I love that store. They also had a fun make and take with Heidi Swapp, and her new Color Shine spray. They definitely knew we would want to get our craft on and were prepared with lots of different and fun ways to get creative.

The classes at SNAP are totally different then other conferences because you can get hands on experience. I got to work with Ryobi power tools to make an arrow, and a standup chalkboard, Home Right was there with a class about their new paint-sprayer and indoor tent, they had a sewing room where you could make pillows or shirts. My favorite class was actually an accident, I wanted to go to the Home Right class, but walked into the embroidery one by mistake. I took it as a sign and sat down. Boy was I glad (Flamingo Toes) got me hooked. She taught me 3 basic stitches, and I can’t wait to learn more.

The parties were also pretty awesome, and themed, which I loved. My favorite was the Preppy Beach Party, where everyone was rocking pineapples, flamingos and bright colors, and Fuji Instax and Heidi Swapp were killing it with the swag.

It was a great conference and I had a blast meeting new bloggers and learning new skills. I came home with some amazing swag and decided that I want to share some with you. Here’s a sneak peek into what I’ll send one lucky winner, and yes that’s a Heidi Swapp planner, washi tape, Lindt chocolate and so much more. I promise it will be like getting a big box of fun!
