I recently had the opportunity to attend a #SprintMom event in the city and I felt my eyes were open to so many different things in the short time I was there.

I mean we use our phones all the time, and we’re showing our kids how much we rely on them as well.  We live in a world where the average age receiving their 1st cell phone is 12 years old.

What really impressed me though was learning about ways they are preparing parents who are either about to give their child a cell phone or if they already have a cell phone how to stay active in their usage.

Here’s the app that really got me thinking:

I mean so many great ways to keep your child safe, yet give them responsibility and still have a watchful eye over them.

I also love that Sprint came up with a Contract that your child signs.  It’s available online and you can customize it to your family.

Overall this really got me thinking about my kids and how one day, far from now, I’ll be sitting down and working on a contract, and figuring out what’s out there to keep them safe and not let them be the 1 of 3 who would be embarrassed by their content.    I hope more parents take an active approach and they learn that there are some great resources out there.
