Whether you believe it or not the holidays are quickly approaching and I’ve got a major inside scoop this holiday season for 2 reasons. The 1st reason I’m super excited about and honored to announce that I’m a Toy Insider Parent Panelist for the year. The 2nd reason is I was able to attend The Toy Insider Holiday of Play 2016 and see all the hot toys!
Let me start by going back to being a Toy Insider Parent Panelist for a second. I’m so excited to be a part of this group. Not only will you find me writing over on their site (The Simple Unmatched Joys of New Crayons, Apple Picking Tips) for the next year I also get to test out some great things and put the kids to work playing. Make sure you’re following along there too so you don’t miss anything awesome!
Now let’s get down to business and the Hot Toys for the 2016 holiday season. I decided it would be easier to share in film so watch this to see all of the Toy Insider’s Holiday Picks.
I of course have my favorites and I’m going to start with my Parent Panel Pick. The PJ Masks Headquarters. This thing is so cool and if you have a child who’s into PJ Masks add this to the wish list now. I have a feeling it’s going to be one that’s tough to find, and it’s a Toys R Us exclusive.
We’re also big Paw Patrol fans for the Monkey Temple witch comes with the new character Tracker. Camden has been following along with Paw Patrol from the start so this will just bring out collection of pups and toys even more play as we head to the jungle this fall.
Fur Real Friends Torch, My Blazin’ Dragon. I’m going to be totally selfish on this next toy. I adore this dragon. He reacts to my touch and you fill him with some water and he blows “fire” (steam) to toast his own special marshmallow. He’s soft and sweet and I can finally give Eleanor a dragon for a pet.
Hatchimals. I don’t even know where to start with this because I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen. What I can tell you is on October 7th, Hatchimals become available and kids are so excited to see what’s in the egg. What I do know is this egg contains something, and will over a few days hatch and add a new member to the family. It’s like a tomagotchi, and you don’t know what you’re getting. There’s the element of surprise and delight and I can’t wait to see. This is going to be a hard to get toy this season so place your order NOW!
Lets not forget about being creative, and one brand always comes to mind, Crayola. I’m excited about the Air Sprayer (more on that soon) and their Emoji Maker Stampers. I love that they asked kids what emojis they wanted and yes pizza and a dog made the cut. I also think it’s so cool that it’s a bit of a science experiment as they get to make the marker and name it.
Tech is always a hot toy and this year I’m excited about the BOSE Build. It’s going to be wish lists for young and old. It’s a great way to teach your kids how to build something they can use and for adults who love to take things apart to see how they work.
