It’s become routine that when the kids come home from school they snuggle up on the couch with Mike and spend time together talking about their day. It’s special daddy time which I can sometimes sneak into, but I’ll be honest I love stepping back and being a spectator. I thought in honor of Father’s Day I would share a few facts about the guy who keeps our household running and is always ready to snuggle, snuggle.
Since Mike is the stay at home parent, not only is he super active in the kids day to day, but he’s also active in the school and community. Always looking for ways to make our kids education better, or help out with the next event. He gives his time and ideas with an open heart.
I like to think of him as a big softy. He has a romantic side that makes me swoon. I know I love to snuggle up to him when he’s wearing his Hanes Comfortblend Superior Softness Undershirts, they are so soft. He not only packs the kids lunch, but he also packs mine each day. With hectic mornings he works hard to get breakfast on the table for the kids and starts to work on their lunch for the day, but he also makes mine. I love when I see little notes on the grapefruit cup for me or he’s made a point to say We Love You somewhere for the kids.
His zone out time is mowing the lawn. He’s often told me that he enjoys taking care of the lawn because he can zone out, listen to podcasts and just enjoy not being bothered.
He’s a great cook and rocks it on the grill. I feel so lucky to arrive home from work and find an awesome dinner just about ready. He makes a great meatloaf, but his stuffed burger is by far the best and something I look forward to every summer. Even when he was coaching softball he always made sure to bring me some kind of dinner.
I’m so happy to have Mike not only as my partner but also the father of my kids. He really is a big softy and I couldn’t ask for anyone better to celebrate this Father’s Day.
