Last week while I was working from home IT happened.

I was nursing Camden, Eleanor was sitting next to me all cuddled up and I was on the phone with a co-worker.  Then Camden suddenly pulled away and started to cry a painful cry.  I turned to Eleanor and said/screamed “Did you Bite him?” where she gave me those puppy dogs eyes and nodded her head.  Reminder, still on the phone with a co-worker, who I then said I would call right back as I had a “situation” to deal with.

After I hung up I tried to get Camden calmed down and my self to figure out what brought this biting situation on.  Eleanor was upset about getting yelled at and I was trying to figure out how to handle this.  She’s never done that before and it wasn’t like we weren’t together.

So we talked about how biting is bad and it can hurt someone and we don’t bite.  So hopefully she never bites again, but then last night she was playing with Camden and touching his face, she didn’t know I was watching her, and then she pinched him on the cheek.

After thinking about it I realize she’s just mimicking what we do.  We pinch his cheeks and tell him how cute he is and nibble/kiss his feet when we’re playing with him.  The big difference is she doesn’t understand her strength and the difference between play and hurtful.

I know this won’t be the last time she does something to hurt her brother, and I know there will be many times that he does something to her (he’s getting good at pulling her hair) so we’ll just have to try our best to keep things in check and maybe explain how we don’t use our teeth when we nibble those cute little piggy’s.
