There’s nothing quite like a casserole or as they say in the mid-west a hot dish, and to me that means comfort food that quick and easy and one of our families favorite is a tater tot hot dish. I must admit that this is a meal my husband grew up eating, and when I learned about it and just how easy it is to make and cleanup I started to add it to our meal plan.

When it comes to meal plans I also think about cleanup so I picked up some of the NEW Scotch-Brite® Scrub Dots at Target. If you’re like me you don’t want to waste time cleaning and the Scotch-Brite® Scrub Dots scrub fast and rinses clean. I also have a coupon for you to save some money on them too at Target!

Supplies needed:

2 pounds ground beef
2 cups mixed vegetables
2 10 ounce cans cream of mushroom
1 cup shredded cheese
tater-tots
pepper to taste
Oven safe pan
Preheat to oven to 400 degrees

Step 1: Brown the hamburger
Step 2: Drain any grease
Step 3: Add the mixed vegetables
Step 4: Stir in the cream of mushroom
Step 5: Put the mixture in an oven safe dish
Step 6: Add a layer of shredded cheese

Step 7: Place a layer of tater tots on top
Step 8: Sprinkle cheese over the dish and place in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes

Step 9: Use your Scotch-Brite® Non-Scratch Scrub Dots Sponge to clean the counter tops and around the stove. Doing this now will mean less work later and I’m all for that. The scrubbing dot technology allows the sponge to rinse clean easily so it makes cleaner up a lot quicker.

I also like to get the first pan done while the hot dish is in the oven and since I’m only washing the one dish the Scotch-Brite® Heavy Duty Scrub Dots Dishwand is my go to. I love how easy it is for me to clean the dish and not have to worry about getting dish hands.

Once your hot dish is done allow it to cool for a few minutes then dish is out and enjoy.

It’s become tradition on nights we have Tater Tot Hot dish to sing a song while we clean up. It’s pretty much us just saying “tater tot hot dish” over and over in a fun rhythm, but it makes our meal together a lot of fun and the clean up silly, and thankfully because of the Scotch-Brite® Heavy Duty Scrub Dots Sponge my pans are done in no time. Leaving me the opportunity to spend time reading to the kids or just sitting down for a moment.
