For the past week we’ve had GG (Grandma Gail) and Grandpa Steve in town from California.

They got to meet their new grandson, spend quality time with Eleanor and explore some of the city.

Since being on maternity leave I’ve been taking advantage of the people who are coming to visit and indulging in a lot of New York City things a local doesn’t usually do.

Friday we decided to head out to Serendipity 3.  Mike and I have been before, but it was a nice treat for Eleanor to have her first frozen hot chocolate with GG & Grandpa.  She wasn’t too keen on sharing, but how can she say no to them!

Gail and I then snuck away for a little shopping at Bloomies and Macys (where I got a new spring jacket!).

Then on Saturday we packed in the fun.  Lunch at Shake Shack in Madison Square Park for some good burgers!.

And Since GG & Grandpa haven’t seen a Broadway show we went to TKTS to get some discount tickets and then snuck over to the Times Square Musuem (it’s free) to check out the New Years Eve ball (which is created by Waterford).

What’s better than giving a kiss when the ball drops to the one you love!

We had a great time checking out the museum, it only takes 10 mins to walk through, but it had a wall of hopes & dreams, a Dick Clark memorial, info about the Times Square kiss, the ball for NYE, some Broadway costumes, and the best part a bathroom.  If you’re walking by I suggest you pop in!

On Saturday night I stayed with the kids and they went to see Memphis.

Sunday they headed to the Met!

Then up to check out the Cloisters.  It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed seeing the flowers, the Hudson and soaking in the sunshine.

Mike and I also did a little checking out of the neighborhood (potential for us!).  Then it was back downtown for some dinner at Blue Smoke.  What can I say we love BBQ!

Monday was an adventure day for GG, Grandpa Steve and Eleanor as they headed out to the Empire State Building to see the view.

(Heads up you are not allowed to pick a child up to show them the view, they must have their feet on the ground while on the observation deck.  This photo was taken illegally!)

A relaxing dinner at home and hanging out was the perfect way to spend their last night visiting with us.

3 Generations!

We are so happy they made the trip out to visit.  It was a great week and even though we did a lot we still have lots more planned for the future.  Thanks for all the fun and memories!
