Since the kids were born I’ve made a point to make them a of the year. With their 2nd and 4th birthdays approaching I’m looking through their old books and seeing just how much they have changed and grown. I love the fact that I have these “scrapbooks” for them and am thankful that I took the time to make them.
Oh time, it’s a precious thing and I know I’ve talked with a lot of people about how I make the books and I think it makes complete sense. I do it throughout the year!
Here’s how it goes:
- Once they have their birthday I open a new project Ex: Eleanor’s 4th year book and pick the theme I like!
- Every month I upload my photos to , it’s free photo storage and sharing plus I love knowing if something happened to my iphoto I have a backup.
- Then I add my favorite Eleanor photos to her book and basically work on a page or two per month.
- Then I wait for the perfect deal and snag the book right before her birthday so I can share it at her party.
I think what I love the most is using all the different styles and pages to make the perfect book for the kids, but if that’s not your idea of fun you just pick the pictures and select auto-fill and your book is done in seconds.
What’s even better is how much the kids really enjoy looking through them. Often Eleanor asks for it before going to bed and if something were to happen, a ripped page or spilled milk, all I have to do it hit the reorder button when I’m ready, which puts my mind at piece.
We rarely print photos anymore, and who wants to have tons of individual pictures lying around? I want to be able to hold a book, not look on a computer screen, and snuggle up to show the kids pictures of things we did and what they looked like as babies. These books are priceless to me and I love knowing that down the road I’ll be able to access them quickly and easily to show baby pictures to future boyfriends or girlfriends!
I’m super excited to say that we’ve got a giveaway for 1- 20 page 8×8 Photo Book from . You can make any kind of photo book you want, the hardest part it picking the pictures.
I was not compensated for this post, but will receive complimentary photo books for the kids 2nd & 4th birthdays! As always all opinions are my own.

I would make a memory book from a camping trip!
Love them! I agree, I prefer looking through the books rather than the computer.
Since we have several filled photo albums for our first and second kids, but one for the third, I'd make one for him!
I love to make albums for our vacations!
I need to make one for my son's first year of life! He's already 15 mos… whoops! a bit behind…
I always make two for every year:) Except I'm way behind!
I will make one for each of my son's school years!
