Ahhh Dewey Beach! I have some great memories of this place. I spent my first summer there in 1998 with 5 girls I didn’t know too well and it turned out they would be some of my best friends.

This past weekend I got to go down for a bachelorette party (I’ll do a separate post for that) and quickly remembered all the fun times and memories I made over those summers.
I got extra lucky and my best friend Karen was in town for her 1st family vacation. So she joined us out. We had to laugh as we walked up to the Starboard she realized she forgot her id. They never let people in without one, but we managed to name drop, explained that we were both nursing mothers and that we couldn’t even drink and we are 32 years old. So we got in.

Still can’t believe it worked, but so happy it did. I also got to see some former students who are grown-up so that was an extra special treat.

They have turned into some amazing women and it was a treat to see them.
There’s something about Dewey Beach that helps you let loose and have a little more fun. You’re carefree on the dance floor, you meet interesting people, walk the entire town, but mostly you just enjoy life a little more.
I wouldn’t trade my summers in Dewey for anything. Sunday nights with the original Burnt Sienna, Flip cup house, Short Swords, Swedes, Grotto Pizza, Kristen and the Noise, the Rudder, Cork foot and Mondays at the Lighthouse were some of my favorite memories.

There are so many more photos, but because it was pre digital camera I only had a few scanned in.
It was nice to head back to the beach and just have fun. Now I just need to find an excuse to get down there again!!
