On a recent trip to Disneyland I discovered that there’s a new extra called Disneyland Max Pass. So what is Disneyland Max Pass? Well from my experience it’s something that everyone should look into because Max Pass will save time and give more memories while visiting Disneyland.
What is Disneyland Max Pass?
Well it’s an extra service that you pay $15 per person, per day (Feb 2019). It will allow you to book fastpasses for select rides from your phone and gives you access to PhotoPass Photos.
How does Disneyland Max Pass Work?
First you need to make sure you have the Disneyland App downloaded to your phone. I recommend doing this before you even get to the park.
If you have paper tickets you’ll want to scan each one into the app and select them into a party. Then once you’re tickets are scanned at the front gate and you enter the park you’ll be eligible to purchase Max Pass. Do it right away and then plan your 1st fastpass. (Note: If you booked tickets through the Disneyland Website you can purchase this service at that time. But if you’re purchasing through a 3rd party or that day then you’ll go the route I explained above)
Once you’ve selected your first fastpass pay attention to see when you’ll be eligible to select your next one. This is important because you don’t have to complete the ride in order to book the next fastpass. We found it was about an hour to 90 minutes after we booked that we were eligible to book another ride.
Then just make sure you show up in the time you selected and enjoy the ride! There’s no reminder so you’ll want to either set an alarm on your phone or just play close attention to the time.
Also, don’t forget to take full advantage of the Disneyland Photopass. This is where the Disney photographers throughout the park will take your pictures. I know we did and found some great photographers along the way that really helped us come out of our shell. These are also available pretty quickly for you to share from your phone and the quality if usually top notch. It was so much fun spending the day with The Next Kid Thing and Globetrotting Mommy.
Overall I found this was totally worth the extra money to give us less time waiting in lines and lots of great photo memories.
Plus with all the time you’ve saved in line you can take more photos with the photopass photographers or search out some the epic Disney Walls in California Adventure, which Savoring the Good has an awesome checklist and tells you exactly where to find them!
