Due Date: February 26, 2012.
Weight Gain: I didn’t really pay attention this pregnancy, and actually enjoy getting bigger each week. Weird I know! I asked the Dr. yesterday and I can’t remember if she said 22 or 28 pounds, and pretty much all belly.
Symptoms: I’ve hit the point where walking and climbing stairs is pretty difficult. I just need to go slow and hold on to the railing. I also can’t sit for long periods of time. I need to walk around, but standing still for more than 5 minutes seems like an eternity so I try to keep moving.
What’s different this time: I think the big difference is this one has been a little easier. No morning/all day sickness for 5 months (I got off at 4 and was pretty much just morning). I do have a hard time brushing my teeth. It doesn’t matter what flavor, type or brand toothpaste I use I start to gag 5 sec after I’ve finished brushing. (Don’t worry I still do it, but the cinnamon life I eat to prevent the gagging probably isn’t the best, oh well).
Cravings/Aversions: Citrus! I’ve been wanting a grapefruit each morning, an orange for a snack and then Edy’s All Natural Pineapple popsicles as another snack. I’m still addicted to good & plenty and I’m sure there are a few others, but that’s the current list.
Sleep: I was doing pretty good on this till this morning. I have a tough time falling asleep with Mike in the bed, so I’ve been going to bed before him, but this morning I woke up at 4:30am and could fall back asleep. I hope it was only last night, but we’ll see. Other than that I’m trying to get all my sleep now!
I am loving: Just relaxing around the apartment and enjoying the little kicks I get from the baby. I don’t know if I’ll have another, so I want to savor this. I’m also enjoying my maternity wardrobe, I think it’s better than my normal, or at least I try harder to look good when I’m pregnant!
I miss: Being able to do small things, like pick up something when it falls. I still do it, but it’s a lot of work. I’m also looking forward to a margarita. I’m not usually a big drinker, but I’ve been craving one. Other than that, I’m not great at following all the rules, so goat cheese is still in my diet.
I am looking forward to: February 17th, Sesame Street Live at Madison Square Garden. I’m hoping to make a family day out of it and do something special for Eleanor.
I’m spazzing about: I’m not a big spazzer, but if anything I would say work. While other people are wondering about the important details for me, like who will take Eleanor when I go into labor, or what will you do about diapers, or is your hospital bag packed. These are all things that I know will work out, so I’m just not going to worry about them.
Best thing about this week: So far getting to see Baby P2 at the ultrasound yesterday and finding out that he/she is weighing in at 6 lbs 12 ounces currently.
Milestones: Since I’m 37.5 weeks I think I’ve gone through the big ones, I’ve now hit the getting up to go to the bathroom 3 times while sleeping one.
Movement: Like crazy, and this little one gets the hiccups at least 3 times a day. 2 are like clockwork between 3-4 & 8-9.
It’s a…: Surprise! We’ll find out when he/she picks it’s birthday.
Exercise: Do the subway stairs and walking to work count? Broadway/Lafayette station is pretty brutal (over 96 steps one way)
