Family Picnic

This past weekend we drove down to PA for a Kerstetter family picnic.  It was a reunion and celebration for my Aunt Dede.

This was the 1st time since 1996 that all of us were together.  Cousins, Aunts, Uncles and friends.

It’s so special that we can share our kids, stories, and memories together.  I even got to meet my Great Aunt Lidy who was my Grandmother’s twin sister.

Since we’ve had our own children we’ve realized how important it is to take the time to attend family events and spend time with cousins and family.  I grew up visiting my family in PA and I know Mike did the same with his family.

I love hearing the stories about my parents as kids, and my family history.  I also got a few of my Grandmothers recipies which is nice to feel like she’s in the kitchen with me.

After the picnic we spent the night playing cards and hanging out, and the kids got a special treat because Uncle Art found a garden snake for them to pet.  These kids are fearless and I love it.

Thanks for a great weekend, and Aunt Dede I’m so glad we got to spend time together.
