It’s time to start thinking about family gatherings, stocking stuffers, gift ideas and what to do to stay active, have fun and give your mind a challenge. I recently received some games for review from, Gigamic, that helps with all these areas and I’m excited to share a few of their games and have a giveaway for 3 games.
YOGI
I’m going to start with Yogi. This game is the perfect way to keep your body active, laugh, and test your balance. You can play by yourself and work on stretching or get your family and friends involved. The idea is easy. You have a deck of cards with different things on them. It could be to keep your elbow above your shoulder, or touch your nose. Sounds easy, but as you collect cards you add on to the first card you can see how challenging it can be. Eleanor and I had so much fun playing this game.
At one point I had to keep an eye closed, a card touching my right palm, a card between my left elbow, and I had to touch my nose. It’s easy enough that any age can play and I can’t wait to get a big group of people to play. I also appreciate that it’s a pretty quick game and you don’t have to be at the table to play. This will be traveling with us this holiday, and for family vacations.
KATAMINO FAMILY
The other game we received was Katamino Family and this game has multiple ways to play. It’s a game that puts your mind to use and gets you to think in different ways. It can be played as a single player or multi-play. We started off by flipping a card and each of us selecting the pieces we needed and then making them fit in the space it suggested. This forced us to think of using pieces in different ways and I like that you can either race yourself or each other.
Another option for play would be to take a group of blocks and make an actual block. I found this one to be tough, but a good mind challenge. What’s great is you can be playing the game one way while another person is playing a different way. While we love to do things together as a family it’s nice to have our own goals or to help each other figure something out.

The third option was to build up with the blocks. Eleanor really liked the idea of this, and wanted to go high. While I watched her build up and Mike attempt to make a square I realized this game is really a great one for any age and will always be relevant and great to pull out when you just want something quick and fun.
I’ve really enjoyed these games from Gigamic and they have a lot more that I’m hoping to check out. I am excited to say that I’m working with them to offer a Gigamic Prize Pack of 3 games (Yogi, Difference and Imagidice). US entries only. Giveaway ends 12/5/2017. You can also grab all these games at Amazon or check out your local game store! Make sure you enter today and don’t forget to think of them for stocking stuffers, gift exchanges, family game night, or just for something fun.
