One year ago today Mike and I singed on the dotted line and bought our 1st house. It’s hard to believe that we made such a big purchase, and change.
Moving from Brooklyn has been a difficult transition for me personally. It was much harder then I thought, but I’m learning to adjust and enjoying the fact that we have a home we can call our own.
This house has already started to collect so many memories, and we are starting to make some great friends. With Mike being a full time stay at home Dad we are taking full advantage of the offerings our town has with the library, local Y and fun festivals and events.
Being a homeowner has been a major learning experience. With one of the worst winters in years we did our fare share of shoveling snow and learning to deal with the NJ transit system not running too smoothly.
I am excited to do more work around the house now that the warm weather is upon us. As I mentioned in my Mother’s Day post we’re starting a little garden and I’ve got some big plans for a dining room makeover and kids playroom in the coming months!
I see how happy my kids are running around the house and having tons of space to play and explore, and how much Mike has loved having space. As for me I love having a craft/sewing room and the ability to decorate for the holidays or have parties.
One year down and I can’t wait to see what the next 20 have in store. Happy Housiversary
