I’ve had some conversations recently with my friends about how we perceive other peoples blogs and how ours are perceived.  I was so interested to hear their thoughts about what I appear to be and how we see others.

I use this blog as a way to talk about fun things we do both together as a family or to talk about my adorable kids and life itself.  Sometimes I touch on challenges we face but for the most part it’s rainbows and smiles.  I would like to state that our life is not perfect and just like any other family we have hard times and yell and fight and get annoyed, but those aren’t the memories I want to look back on.  I will post from time to time some of the difficulties, but I believe that staying positive is the best thing I can do for my family.

So the next time I post a great family weekend keep in mind that we probably got in a fight before leaving trying to get out the door, or that we had to drag out a child kicking and screaming because they didn’t want to leave and caused a huge scene.  With a big vacation upon us we know we’re going to have a great time, but there will also be tears, mean looks, talking and most importantly hugs.

We can’t always see behind the closed door to know another families situation, but we know ours and we’ll focus on that.  We can’t try to keep up with another family, we’ll lose the dynamic that makes us who we are.  So the next time you read someones post and think “I’m jealous” someone is probably saying the same thing about you!!
