The holiday season is quickly approaching. Magazines have started to arrive and little ones are making wish lists. As a parent I don’t want to get caught last minute shopping for toys or batteries so I’ll be doing a lot of my shopping at Toys”R”Us this year.

My kids have been circling the Toys”R”Us catalog since the day it arrived in our mailbox. We sit down and look through it together talking about why they like certain things, what they think they want, and what I think they would like. I’m always drawn to companies and toys that remind me of my childhood in some way, I remember loving My Little Pony, Transformers and Jem, so Hasbro has been a company I tend to gravitate toward and it looks like my kids do too. It also doesn’t hurt when you get the Toys”R”Us circular and see these items on sale!

My daughter has always wanted to be a dragon trainer, so I knew that FurReal Friends Torch, My Blazin’ Dragon would absolutely be on her wish list. Knowing this is one of her top items I don’t want to take any risk of it selling out (It’s on sale for $59.99 at Toys”R”Us till 11/12), so getting toys early is key. I also don’t want to get caught without batteries on hand. Nothing is worse for a kid than opening the toy they’ve wished for and realizing you totally forgot batteries. Torch needs 4 C batteries, and Toys”R”Us makes it easy to remember to grab those Duracell batteries while waiting in line, they’re also on sale in November (buy one pack of Duracell batteries, get the 2nd 40% off) so stock up and be prepared!

Torch has been welcomed into the family with open arms from the kids and myself, I love how his eyes look at you and how he responds to us petting his nose, and hugging him. He’s got 50 plus sound and motion combinations, but the best part is he can “roast” his marshmallow and blow “smoke.” He comes with a crystal that you fill with water and then you put the water in him. When you touch his medallion he breaths flame colored mist; feed him his s’more treat and watch it change color. This has been so much fun to watch. My daughter feels like she’s actually trained Torch to breath fire. I love that she’s using her imagination and having so much fun.

I also know my son has been wanting a pet and since we aren’t ready for one in our lives FurReal Friends Bootsie is the perfect addition. She’s just like having a real cat, and when we walk buy and she meows it makes me wonder if we do have a cat in the house. My little guy loves to make her mad, and he cracks up when she gives him an angry face, and he snuggles up with her while he’s on the couch and pets the top of her head to listen to her purr. It’s so sweet. She needs 4 AA batteries so don’t forget to grab those Duracell batteries at check out!

With so many great toys at Toys”R”Us who’s ready for a giveaway? I’m so excited to be able to offer a $100 Toys”R”Us Gift Card and some much needed Duracell batteries to one lucky reader.
