I realized that I’ve not told you guys what’s been going on with Mike recently.  After he was let go back in August we went back and forth about our plan for life.  After much debate he decided that he would go back to school to finish his Bachelor’s degree and be a full time stay at home dad (SAHD).

This is a huge change for us in many ways.  He’s been a SAHD since October 1st and he’s doing a great job.  He’s utilizing all the things our community has to offer, parks, libraries, free classes.  We joined the Y and he manages to wrangle 2 while gluing down feathers and sequins.

He’s teaching them lessons, songs, writing, ABCs and making new friends along the way.

This is a hard job for anyone, but I give him a lot of extra credit as he’s usually the only dad at the playground in the morning or at creative movement class.

It’s put a new spin on our family, but it’s working right now.  We’ve found some great resources via Pinterest and there so are many craft and lesson plan ideas we have to remember that we don’t need to do it all.

With Thanksgiving this month I want to say how thankful I am that I have a husband who is embracing this new job and giving it his all.  He could plop the kids in front of TV and let them learn that way, but he’s getting them out there and excited about life and I love him for that.
