Today is Eleanor’s 1st full day as a 3 year old and last night I laid with her and told her the story of the day she was born, and smiled.  I feel so lucky to be the mom to this child.  She’s a ray of sunshine and makes our life so much better.

Here are some of the qualities that we love and that make you who you are:

    • You are a caring person and want to make sure we are safe doing everything (standing on a chair, cutting with scissors, walking the stairs)
    • You’re favorite songs right now are “You are my Sunshine,” “What a Wonderful World,” “Tiny Turtle,” and ABC’s.  You will sing them any chance you get and project very well
    • Being a big sister is one of your favorite things.  You take care of your buddy boy and love to spend time with him
    • Manners are important and you are great about saying please, thank you and asking for items politely
    • Toy Story (stoy story) is your favorite thing.  You love Buzz Lightyear the most, but enjoy being cowgirl Jessie.  You always want to wear your TS clothes and are running around saying “To Infinity and Beyond”
    • You are so friendly and open, you have no problem meeting new people and making new friends.
    • You enjoy being independent and love to walk to the subway on your own, and climb the stairs yourself.  You’re starting big girl steps and we’re so proud of you.
    • You’re a decent eater.  Since we joined the lunch bunch you’re eating all types of different and new foods and trying them, which is all we ask, but spaghetti and chicken nuggets with ketchup are some of your favorites.  You also really like the white of a hard boiled egg, but now the yoke and enjoy eating healthy snacks.  This doesn’t mean that you turn down a cupcake or ice cream, but those are special treats.
    • You love to play, and you’re starting to understand how to play which is fascinating to watch.  I can’t wait to see where your mind will take you.
    • Clothing wise you pretty much wear a 4T and while you’ve been potty trained for a year, you’re still working on staying dry overnight.
    • When you spill something or have an accident you tell us right away and then say “It happens sometimes.” and it’s the funniest thing to hear you say.
    • You curious about how things work and want to help us with anything we’re doing.
    • You have a great memory and I’m always surprised with the things you do remember.
    • When we put you to bed at night we read you a story and you ask “Stay a couple minutes please?” which we do and cherish.

I could keep going on and on, about all the things that make you who you are, but I have to tell myself you’re going to keep evolving and growing and we are a part of shaping you.  I’m so proud and honored to call you my daughter.  Here’s to your 3rd year and many fun memories ahead!

Love

Mama
