It’s the time of year where we find there are little bowls of goodies throughout the house or at a party. I try to stay away from chocolate and personally love cashews so I wanted to give them a little pizzazz and sweetness so I’m sharing my recipe for Vanilla Cinnamon Sugar Cashews.
It’s a pretty simple recipe that easy to make and will be oh so tasty and yummy for displaying at home or giving as a gift!
Ingredients & Supplies:
1 egg white
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups whole cashews (you can use half, but I like the whole ones)
Mixing bowl
Silpat
Cookie Sheet
Brown Paper bag or brown paper (this is for cooling the nuts)
Step 1: Preheat oven to 300 degrees
Step 2: Pour the egg white into the mixing bowl and beat the egg white till frothy
Step 3: Add the water and vanilla and mix together
Step 4: Pour the cashews into the bowl
Step 5: Mix in the cinnamon and sugar together in a small bowl then pour over the cashews and mix till they have a nice coating
Step 6: Spread out the cashews on a cookie sheet (I like use a silpat, but it’s not necessary)
Step 7: Put the cashews in the oven for 10 minutes and then move them around and do another 5-7 minutes.
Step 8: When they’re ready lay them out on a brown paper to cool. (Doing it on brown paper keeps them from sticking)
Step 9: Enjoy. You can eat them hot or cool they taste great and sweet either way!
What I love about this recipe is it’s things you already have around the house and it doesn’t take long to whip up a batch. Mine also aren’t super coated, which it how I like them. I love to give these as hostess gifts too.
