The winter weather is here and while we have hopes that spring is right around the corner the winter colds and flu are sneaking up on you. Which is why I was glad Stroller in the City invited me to an event to learn more about Boiron with tips to stay healthy.

If you’re unfamiliar with Boiron it’s the world leader of homeopathic medicines. What’s homeopathic medicine? They define them on their website as

  • Homeopathic medicines are therapeutically active micro-doses of mineral, botanical and biological substances.
  •  They are reliable and safe drugs, therefore considered by many as an excellent first choice when self-medicating. Homeopathy has been used for more than 200 years, building a remarkable safety record and generating a great body of knowledge.

So what does this have to do with winter wellness, well to start lets get the obvious out of the way. To avoid germs spreading ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS! I also personally love to carry my Norwex cloths to ensure that I keep germs at bay, but nothing beats washing your hands.

What I love about Biorin is that they have something for everything. At the first sign of a the flu or not feeling well they have Oscillococcinum. Recommended for ages 2 and up. This is the best place to start when you start to get those body aches or fatigue.

Maybe there’s no way around it and your child has a cold, runny nose, sneezing and y the Children’s ColdCalm. This is great for ages 3 & up and it doesn’t cause drowsiness or interact with other medications.

I think the Calendula Cream has come in handy the most with helping with cuts, scrapes and in the future sunburn. This is something I’ll be using all the time and will keep in our car emergency kit, purse and swimbag.

I also loved learning about the app. They have so many different remedies out there and for just about anything, even stress, that it’s interesting to see what it can recommend for you. Just plug in your symptoms and it will help.

So where can you get these over the counter items? Yes, they are over the counter! I’ve seen them in major stores like Walmart, Target, Walgreens and other drug stores, plus Amazon (affiliate).

For my family we try our hardest to avoid getting sick, and at the first sign of not feeling well I’m pulling out the Boiron app to make sure I have what we need to combat missing school, work or doing something fun. I’m so glad I learned about these remedies not just for when your sick, but hurt or sore or even teething. I’ve always been a believer that plants can heal and I’m so happy a company like Boiron is doing the research and they get their remedies FDA certified so I can rest easy knowing my family is in good hands.
