I love a fun weekend getaway and my last adventure took me to Baltimore, Maryland for a girls weekend. We decided to spend an afternoon shopping and walking through the Hampden area and when I saw a very large pink flamingo outside of a Cafe Hon I knew we needed to eat there for lunch.

Cafe Hon- Baltimore, MDI’ve heard about the Baltimore Hons and their epic hair, outfits and Honfest that takes place in June yearly. I would love to rock a 60’s style dress, beehive hair and cateye glasses. You know I’m all about Retro Styles, so when I saw the restaurant it was a no brainier that we needed to eat there.

Hon Cafe ElvisOf course you walk in and are greeted by life size Elvis statue and a glass display case with cakes, treats and Hon Buns that have you drooling. With bright pink walls, retro style booths and colorful art you feel like you stepped into a ladies lunch.

Hon Bun from Cafe HonWe decided it would be best to just start off strong with the Hon Bun and split one between the 3 of us as an appetizer. It was warm, gooey and just perfect. This is a must try. Even if you just go in for the bun it’s totally worth the stop.

Cafe Hon SpecialtiesOur lunch was also tasty. I got the Classic Hon salad with chicken salad. I asked what made it a Hon special and she told me it’s because of the dressing. They have a homemade dill vinaigrette they are famous for. You can even buy a jar of it to take home. It was all delish and fresh and we were pleased with the portion sizes and prices.

Cafe Hon DecorOf course we also had to check out the bathroom and it didn’t disappoint with leopard print wallpaper, fun photos from previous Honfests and hot pink walls it made you smile. We also had to check out their store where you could buy your own beehive, or Maryland memorabilia, and see the famous flamingo chandelier.

Cafe Hon was a perfect lunch spot while walking around Baltimore’s Hampton area with friends. Add this to your list of places to eat in Baltimore!

Have you been to Cafe Hon or Honfest?
