April showers bring May flowers, and it also means rain boots for all. We tend to find rain boots 2nd hand so I wanted to give these yellow boots a bit of personality and it was so easy to to do with the use of my Cricut outdoor vinyl. So here’s my DIY Rain Boots.

As I said we tend to get our rain boots second hand. These were found at a local yard sale, and just needed a good cleaning and some personality. Tip: If you are buying 2nd hand boots keep your eyes open for cracks, if you see cracks around the foot then move on, the goal is to keep your feet dry and water tends to get into the cracks. You can also do this with new boots if you prefer.
Once the boots were cleaned up it was time to figure out the design. I wanted to so something simple and fun and of course we know the rain helps the flowers grow so I decided on a simple flower design and home pink vinyl. I chose to use the Cricut outdoor vinyl so because it’s more permanent.

I cut out the images, and weeded any excess vinyl, then used Cricut transfer tape and my scraper to apply the flower to the boots. It took about 15 minutes to do the whole thing. I spent more time cleaning up the boots!

The next step was waiting for it to rain so we could test them and the Disney Balloon umbrella out while jumping in puddles and having fun. I love how they add a little brightness to a gloomy day.

Do you get things 2nd hand; then give it a little more personality?
