We’ve created a tradition with some of our friends from Brooklyn by going apple picking every fall.  This year we were missing a few members but we had so much fun riding tractors, picking apples and spending time together.

We feel lucky to have these friends, and know that we can talk with them about life, parenting or just stand in silence, which as parents sometimes it’s something we need to do.  What’s better is our kids get along!

We ate tons of apples, and came home with lots, which means I’m open to suggestions for recipes! Creating traditions as a family is always fun, but making them with friends is even better.  Even though we no longer live in the city we still love to hang out and get together with our friends there and that’s important. As our kids get older we’ll find we’re pulled into different directions but I know that we’ll continue to support and be there for each other making this parenthood journey a little funner each year.

Do you take an annual apple picking trip?  What’s your favorite recipe to make with apples?
