With the new school year fast approaching we’re getting ready for both kids to be in the same school and talking about our back to school goals. We like to create big goals for the year, but I also find it’s important to focus on daily goals. I came up with a perfect and easy FREE printable; Today I Will… goal sheet that will have kids and parents excited for Back to School.
I talked with the kids and we thought a lot about goals they want to set, big and small and I realized that having something to look forward to completing at the end of the day is a great way to teach setting goals. We made a list of goals that we would like to use throughout the week both academically and personally.
I knew I wanted to create a fun way to encourage goal setting; so I designed a FREE Printable. Since I really want this to last throughout the school year I’m taking it up a notch and using a Scotch™ Thermal Laminator and the Scotch™ Letter Size Thermal Lamination Pouches 50-Pack that I picked up in the Back to School section at my local Walmart to ensure each day we remember to set goals.
I love how easy it is to laminate. Just warm up the Scotch™ Thermal Laminator, place your Today I will… printable in one of the Scotch™ Thermal Lamination Pouches and run it through the machine. It only takes a few minutes and I’ve got a sturdy and easy to clean sheet ready for some goals.
While the printable is great I also wanted to be able to use more color to make goals fun to write plus allow them to change easily, and quickly so we purchased some bright Post-it® Brand Super Sticky Notes. I love that we can easily switch out goals and make new ones just by writing it on a Post-it®. It’s been proven that you’re more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down.
I can’t wait to see how the school year goes, and I know having this goal chart will help us to look at both our small and big goals throughout the year and remember to make today awesome and to try to new things.
