Do you love to host friends and family? Do you find there are often drinks and cocktails involved? Do you have a bar cart or have been looking to purchase one? If you said yes to any of these then you’re in luck because today I’m sharing 8 ways to give your bar cart personality!
Lets start with the bar cart. I have wanted one since we moved into our home, and have been debating on getting one pretty much every time we have a party. When Hayneedle reached out to me about working together the first thing I looked up was bar carts and I fell in love with this Belhem Living Olivia Round Bar Cart, an exclusive for them. They have a huge selection and the prices are great. I wanted one that I could move around, and that didn’t take up too much space. I love that it’s got a mirrored bottom, and can hold about 8 glasses, plus it works beautifully in a home and would be perfect for an apartment.
Once you have your perfect bar cart it’s time to give it some personality. I find I’m constantly changing the look of my cart, and with the holidays approaching I’ll be decorating to give it some major personality. Here’s 8 ways to add some fun.
Banners & Signs: Why not add a cute little sign or banner on the cart. It’s an easy way to switch out themes based on the event. I recommend keeping it to smaller words. Party works for any occasion, but you can a Boo, Thanks, Joy, Love, Baby, or whatever fits your event.
Straws/Stirring Sticks: It may seem silly, but throw some cute and colorful paper straws in a glass and it immediately adds more personality. I also love when I see themed swizzle sticks.
Ice cubes: Add a small container of ice with cubes in fun shapes and your guests with appreciate this small detail. It could be pumpkins, stars, Star Wars, Lego cubes or just really big ice cubes.
Flowers: Fresh flowers are beautiful and when you put a small one on the bar cart you’re adding even more life to the party. I recommend keeping it simple, and also making sure it’s not a flower that will “dust” your drinks
Cocktail Napkins: Who doesn’t love a funny, or pretty cocktail napkin? It’s an affordable way to give some spunk and possibly even some conversation, depending on what it says!
Sweets: Adding a small little treat on top welcomes friends to take a look and even if they aren’t planning to have a drink still par take in the fun. I’m often gifted small boxes of treats and love to put them right out on the cart. It shows I appreciate their thoughtfulness and am excited to share with everyone!
Tools: This is important. Always be sure you have a way to open a bottle. It doesn’t matter if it’s beer, wine or you’re making a mixed drink. Nothing will bring your bar cart down if there’s no way to enjoy what it holds. I always place an opener on the top, but also keep a spare one on the bottom. These have a tendency to walk away so I like to be prepared. You can also add some fun shakers to the mix. Don’t be afraid to mix silver and gold or find a conversation piece.
Hand/Tea Towels: I love this one because not only is color getting added, but you can really find some awesome ones for the holidays. Plus it’s great and quick cleanup if/when the first drink is spilled because we know it’s going to happen. I just recommend you don’t use ones that are irreplaceable.
Entertaining is very important to me and our family so I love knowing that I’m ready to host at any moment. It doesn’t matter if I want to mix myself a Malta Mule, Cotton Candy Martini or add a punch bowl in the center and invite our friends over my bar cart will have personality and keep the party going.
Disclosure: I was provided with a gift code from Hayneedle.com to help purchase the bar cart. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
