The cake is one of the most exciting parts of a party, and a big deal for us. Since we had a Superhero Party that encompassed all different superheros we needed to get creative on the cake. That’s when I realized making the symbols out of chocolate as cupcake toppers would be perfect.

To start this process takes a little time, but the end result will be awesome when you tell people you can actually eat it.

Chocolate Superhero Symbols Supplies Needed:
- Candy Melts (I prefer Wilton ones personally)
- Candy Melts
- Plastic Bags
- Scissors
- Toothpicks
- Microwaveable bowls
- cooking oil
How to make Chocolate Superhero Symbols:
- Take the candy melts and add to a microwaveable bowl, then add a small drop of oil and microwave till melted.
- Place the melted chocolate into the plastic baggie and cut a very, very, very small corner.
- Drop small drops of chocolate on the parchment paper. Then use a toothpick to push around the chocolate and form the shape you want.

Chocolate making tips:
Now each symbol is a little different. For Batman I make the black outlines first and then let them dry. Once dried I peeled them off the parchment and then made the yellow oval and placed the black symbol on top of it. I used the same process for Superman. Wonder Woman and Spiderman were the opposite. I did the bottom first and then added the red lines or spider once it was hard. Mike did a lot of the work on these, and helped figure out what worked best.
It’s all about working with what you’ve got. If I had some pastry bags and tips it would have been a little easier, but I wanted to use what I had on hand. This is time consuming, so don expect to do it in a 1/2 hour, but once you get started and get into the groove of it you’ll be done in no time.
Overall I think these chocolate symbols turned out great. They looked amazing on a cupcake stand and the kids were so excited to get to eat them.
