I have a confession to make…

I LOVE the HOLIDAYS!

I know to some of you this isn’t anything new but to others this is my time of year.

Right after Halloween I start to get excited and the planning begins, oh who am I kidding I start planning in September.  If Mike would let me I would start playing holiday music in early September, but he has a firm day after Thanksgiving policy, which I respect, when we’re in the car!

I look forward to putting my kids in adorable holiday themed outfits and hats.

I plot our perfect Christmas card photo and draft the letter to adorn it on Dec 1st.

I eagerly await the announcement of ABC Family’s 25 days of Christmas schedule. I watch Hallmark, Lifetime and any channel that has a movie with Christmas or Santa in the title.  I anticipate the classic commercial of the Hershey kisses playing We wish you a merry Christmas, and cry at the sentimental commercials by Kay Jewelers or the newest one is the Kohl’s “Surprise.”

I know some people feel that Christmas is jumping the shark but to me I love the excitement and anticipation.  This way when December rolls around I’m not all stressed out about what to do or thinking of gifts for people, but enjoying time with family and the activities that have been planned.

We wait till after Thanksgiving to decorate and our Elf “Fezzi-plum” rings our doorbell on Dec 1st when he arrives from the North Pole.

I will admit that while I do love Christmas if you asked me my favorite holiday I would say it’s Thanksgiving.  There’s something about everyone coming together over a wonderful meal and saying what they are thankful for that puts that holiday on the top of my list!
