There a magic about the month of December and it usually comes when I check my mailbox and see real mail from family and friends. It’s holiday card time and I look forward and plot and plan my cards starting in October. The one thing I never have to worry about is where to get them. I’ve used Shutterfly for all our cards for years and I love when that orange box arrives to my door.

Shutterfly Holiday Ornament CartdsOne of the reasons Shutterfly has been my go to for cards is because I like to send pictures. With a list of 70 people we send to people both in town and far away. Some our only communication is a holiday card each year, and for those not on social media it’s nice for them to see the kids and us having fun and enjoying life. I love that I can either go with a single picture or some cards can have a dozen different pictures representing the year. It just depends on what fits your family and style.

The design options are great. Different cuts of the frame or add a foil mark to make your card really shine. For us this year I decided to try the NEW ornament cards. I wanted something that people could either hang on their tree or a wreath and for those who want to keep it (yes Mom I’m talking about you) they can put it out each year right next to that ornament I made in 1985.

Naughty or Nice ornament cards

I like to keep the card fun so I went with the Naughty and Nice Ornament Card. I was surprised with how large they were. I like that it won’t get lost on the tree, but it doesn’t stand out too much. I also love the idea of making a garland of ornament cards. Adding more decor to the home and displaying friends and family.

There are tons of great holiday card options and photo gifts that Shutterfly really does quality work at a great price. Remember my Holiday Memories Table Runner from last year? I’m still amazed with how soft and nice it is. I’ve also got my eye on a few more fun things, the customized serving tray is on my wish list and of course all grandparents will be getting their calendars because it really is the perfect gift.

Taking time at the holidays to send a personal card is exactly what I love. I know someone thought about my family and as I address each card personally I reminisce on the fun memories I’ve had with them. I sit down with my address book, some cookies and cocoa and enjoy the time it takes me to do this. I know some people say “I don’t do holiday cards” but it really does make someones day, and even if you only get 10 (which you can) you’ll be thankful you did, and the hardest thing will be picking the design you love.

What’s your favorite type of holiday card?
