Nothing beats an ice cold glass of lemonade, except maybe a glass of lavender lemonade, and it’s surprisingly easy to make!
We’re always looking for fun ways to add a little flavor to our drinks for the kids and us. While we enjoy our Malta Mules, it’s nice to have something everyone can enjoy.
To start you’ll need to have some lavender syrup. You can buy it premade or make your own, which is some sugar, water and edible lavender.
How to make Lavender Syrup
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
4 teaspoons lavender buds
Put the water in a pot on medium heat, add the sugar and mix till it’s dissolved.
Then add the 4 teaspoons of lavender buds and let them steep for about 15 mins.
Once it’s done use a thin sieve to strain the syrup. I recommend doing this 2 times just to make sure)
Optional: The syrup will not be purple, if you want to add food coloring to get the purple color you can.
You can store the syrup in the fridge for up to a month, but trust me it won’t last that long!
Lavender Lemonade Recipe
To make a pitcher of lavender lemonade:
2 cups of lemon juice
2 cups of lavender syrup
1/2 cup sugar (you can add more if you like a sweeter taste)
8 cups cold water
Mix together and add lemon slices as desired.
If you want to just make a single glass that’s easy too:
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of lavender syrup
1 a teaspoon of sugar
cup of cold water & some ice
You can also substitute the water for seltzer and have a fizzy/bubbly lavender lemonade.Or if you want to make it a little more adult add some vodka to either option!
So many options on ways to enjoy this summertime drink. I know I’m looking forward to sitting outside with a good book and a cold glass of this lavender lemonade.
