So I pulled together 5 tools that I think should be in every house, especially if you have children.

5 Must Have Craft Tools for the Non-Crafty

Here are my 5 tools for the non-crafty!

Scissors

1.  Good Scissors
Keeping a good pair of scissors is key for being ready to craft or sew at any moment.  Also, make sure they are grown up scissors, it’s great to have kid ones on hand, but you’ll want the real ones when you’re ready to work. I am personally a fan of the brand Fiskars since I know they hold up.

Handheld Hole Punch

2.  Hole Punch
You can do so many things with this small tool.  Make your own lacing game with a paper plate, hang a sign with ribbon, make a necklace. Possibilities are endless.

Hot Glue Gun

3.  Hot Glue Gun
This helps you make just about anything you want.  A glue gun can cost as little as $5 bucks so go buy one and have it on hand.  I have made so many crafts just by heating up a little glue, and I’ve got a Halloween costume DIY that’s pretty simple (GoGo Squeez, Care Bears). Just little foam, 15 minutes and a glue gun and you’re set. Oh, don’t forget to pick  up some hot glue sticks as well! I use this one and love that I can unplug it if needed.

Stapler

4.  Stapler
This office supply is a hidden gem of crafting.  Maybe you need to hem up a dress but don’t sew, well staple it!  I don’t recommend doing it for a big fix, but I’ve fixed many a costumes this way.  Or maybe you’re making a shaker with a paper plate and rice, just staple it together.  Don’t forget about those pull away chains to count down the days to Disney or Christmas.  So many simple things can be done with a quick staple!

Pinterest

5.  Pinterest
While Pinterest isn’t a physical tool, it’s a great mental tool.  It helps you to think outside of the box and gives you the confidence that you can make anything.  I’ve gotten so many simple and spectacular ideas.  I don’t know how I ever lived without it.  Don’t forget to follow me HERE.

So that’s it 5 simple things that are affordable and easy to store.  You’ll be surprised with all you can do and how helpful they will be for those last minute school or scouts projects.
