When it’s comes to Disney Villains, the one who’s stolen our soul is Hades from Disney Descendants 3, and when the request for a DIY Hades costume came through I knew exactly how to make the Lord of the Underworld come to life.
From the moment we meet Hades it’s obvious that’s he’s a cool rocker, and that’s what makes this costume so much fun to DIY. We love Disney Descendants, and have a Disney Descendant’s Party guide, and even a Disney Villains Gift Guide to help you show your love as well.
DIY Hades costume
The basic pieces of the costume are simple. A black faux leather jacket, black shirt, jeans, and if you want to add a few chains and some gloves they only add more cool to the costume. The fun part is turning the jacket into one that Hades would wear, and I decided to use my Cricut to add the fun.

To make this I designed the look using Cricut Design Space, Hades Jacket. I knew we would need some flames, skulls and the look of spikes.
Then I placed placed the vinyl on the jacket. Keep in mind this will stay on really well, but it’s not permanent, we found we would have to press the flames down especially on the shoulders. Keep in mind I didn’t use Iron on vinyl as I was scared it would ruin the jacket.
The best part if you’re really able to make this jacket into what you want, and have fun with it. My daughter loved asking for a little more here or there, and having a say in what the jacket looked like. It was so easy to make, and she was so happy with how it turned out. To complete the look we added some blue hair coloring, and black eyeliner for a smudge look.
It’s always fun to be bad and this costume is the perfect example of that. Do you have a Hades fan?
