We love to celebrate the New Year as a family. It doesn’t matter if we’re home in pj’s or having friends over to help ring in the new year.
This year we’re hosting a fun family get together and I’ve totally waited till the last moment to buy party hats and crowns, so I’ve been rummaging through my stock of supplies to see what I could come up with. Of course I found tons of gold pipe cleaners so I got the idea to make some fun and simple crowns.
All you need is a little time, less than 5 minutes, and an idea for what you want your crown to look like and you can get started.
I would use 2 pipe cleaners for the ring that goes around your head. Just take the 2 ends and twist them around each other, Do the same to the other end to make a ring.
Your design is the fun part. We made one crown with 7 points, like the Statue of Liberty, and another more princess style and our 3rd was to ring in the new year with 2016. It’s just a matter of bending and shaping and adding the pipe cleaners together.
Seriously if my 5 year old can make one you can too. What’s even better is we’ll have some made up at our party, and I’ll have some extra pipe cleaners around so if someone wants to make one they can.
Now I’m off to see what I can come up with the gents. I have a feeling paper cups will be put to use on this one!
Have a great New Years Eve!
Oh this is so good! I’ve always loved pipe-cleaner crowns and your New Year’s twist is brilliant. Cheers to a New Year! x
