The 100th day of school is a pretty big deal in elementary schools around the country. A milestone that the kids and teachers look forward to. It also usually means there’s a project of some type and in our school the kids are asked to make a shirt with 100 things on it, so we made a shirt sharing how T-rific we think 100 days of school is!
For us this is a project for Kindergarten and I remember my daughter being very specific on wanting 100 Super Days, so we did superheros for that. For my son we went with a different approach. I asked his what he thought of school and he said it’s Terrific. That’s when it hit me that we should put 100 Ts on his shirt for 100 T-rific days. It also works wonderfully because our school name begins with a T so even better.
White T-Shirt (I always have a pack of Hanes undershirts that I use throughout the school year for these types of projects)
Iron on Vinyl (our school colors are Blue and Gold so I went with those)
Cricut Easy Press
I did use my Cricut to cut out the Ts and put him in charge of placing them all over the shirt.
I was so thankful to have my Cricut Easy Press because he could also iron them all on, with my supervision, because I can set the temp and timer and there was less chance of him burning himself. He loved the idea that he was making his shirt and getting to use Mommys special machines.
I’m so happy with how it turned out and I know that the 100th day of school he’ll be excited to show off his handy work.
If you don’t have Cricut, you can still make this shirt, with a few different options. Writing on a shirt with Fabric markers or gluing down the letter T all over. As long as you’re doing it with your child it will be perfect and fun!
