Did you know that Disney Cruises sometimes have a special day at sea? When we sailed on the Fantasy we were lucky to also have a Star Wars Day at Sea, and that meant lots of special events, photo opportunities and Star Wars fun.

Star Wars Day at Sea DCL

The Star Wars day at Sea has lots of meet and greets, special shows, Jedi Training, Special Guests, movies, Porg hunts and fun food. Some of the things you need to book tickets for in advance and some are just show up and enjoy.

Star Wars Day at Sea Special Meet & Greets

Star Wars Day at Sea Special Meet and Greets

We made a point to book our tickets for Chewbacca, R2D2 & C3PO, and Darth Vader right after we booked our cruise. We wanted to see these characters and I booked Chewbacca and R2D2 & C3PO back to back and I’m glad I did since they were right next to each other. It wasn’t a big deal, but I’m glad we booked early in the morning so we could enjoy our afternoon.

Star Wars Day at Sea Porgs on BoardA new activity for the kids was a Porgs on Board where you hunt around the ship. This hunt was fun to do, but it was a little tricky to find, and I found parents were helping each other out to find where the Porgs were hiding. What made this really fun was walking around and seeing different Star Wars characters and grabbing photos, or sharing a moment.

Star Wars Day at Sea special events

There were also special events, like BB-8 races, Star Wars Trivia, Costume contests, Pool patrol and a special guest for a Q&A. The navigator is filled with fun things to do.

Star Wars Day at Sea desserts and dinnerThe food is also themed, you’ll find Darth Vader treats in Cabanas and your dinner will be a menu of food out of this galaxy.

Disney Cruise Jedi Training

Star Wars Day at Sea Jedi TrainingOne of the highlights for my family was participating in the Jedi Training. This is something that has to be booked in advance. Sadly we couldn’t get it booked as it was full, but when we got on the ship we were able to snag 2 spots. It was nice to have the extra theatrical elements of the stage and be inside the air conditioned theater.

Disney Cruise Star Wars Day at Sea

If you’re a family who really loves or even just enjoys Star Wars this is a great day of fun on the ship.

Tell me which Star Wars character would you like to meet?
