I love a special treat that can be themed for a party and this is a simple and fun one, Mickey’s Magical Wands was a perfect one for our recent play date and I knew I needed to share just how simple they are to make.

Edible Wand DIYWhen we were selected to host our DisneyKids Play date, I knew I wanted to use the Disney World attraction Mickey’s Philharmagic as our theme, so of course we needed to have Mickey’s Magical Wand. There was debate on if it should we a wand or baton (band friends you know what’s I’m talking about) but since it was preschool I stuck with wand.

Mickey’s Magical Wand Supplies:

Edible Wand Supplies

Candy Melts/Melting chocolate (I prefer Wilton brand)
Sprinkles
Pretzel Rods
Microwave safe bowl
Cooling Rack
Silpat (I like to keep this under the cooling rack)
Pretzel bags

Edible Wand StepsStep 1: Melt the chocolate in 20-30 second increments in the microwave. Stirring between each one.
Step 2: Once the chocolate is melted take the pretzel rod and dip it in the chocolate. I use a fork to help coat
Step 3: Make sure you have a thin coating you don’t want your chocolate to goop and droop
Step 4: Add sprinkles to your pretzel
Step 5: Place on a cooling rack and allow to sit and harden (about 10 minutes). Another option is to place them in the fridge to harden faster.
Tip: You may have to reheat your chocolate if you’re doing a lot. You’ll see how it starts to harden.

I also pulled together a quick video to share just how easy and fun these are to make!

Edible Wands

It’s super simple and since it’s pretty quick. What’s better is all the different possibilities you have with these. They can be fairy wands, or witch and wizard wands, or just a fun treat!
