There’s a spooky story ready to be told, and I’m excited to curl up with my kids and read this month. We love when a story can take us into an imaginary world, of witches, ghosts and Halloween fun. So I decided to pull together 30+ Halloween books for kids.
I always try to give books that aren’t as popular and while some of these are great to own, I also recommend you check out your local library. There’s nothing better than checking out a big stack of books and reading spooky stories together.
5 Little Pumpkins
Skelly the Skeleton Girl
I Spy – Spooky Night
Laugh out Loud Spooky Jokes for Kids
In a Dark, Dark Room and other Scary Stories
The Short Straw
Which way to Witch School
The X-Files: Earth Children are Weird
The Day of the Dead
How to Catch a Monster
Creepy Pair of Underwear
Peanut Butter & Brains
It’s Raining Bats and Frogs
Ten Timid Ghosts
At the Old Haunted House
I’m Trying to Love Spiders
Skeleton Meets Mummy
Bonapart Falls Apart
By the Light of the Halloween Moon
Room on the Broom
What I love about a lot of these books is it doesn’t have to be Halloween to read them. We keep some in rotation year round and for some when we pull them out I love to see the smile on the kids faces because it’s been a while since we read them.
