I’ve been a Cricut user for years, but I feel like it all changed for me when I got my Cricut Explore Air 2 a few years ago. This has prompted me to share 5 things I love about my Cricut Explore Air 2 and the kind of crafter I am, spoiler alert I’m messy!
Craft Room Sign
I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of craft supplies. When creativity strikes, I like to be able to just get to work, having my Cricut ready to open and a craft room stocked with lots of items, was one of the draws to moving from the city to the suburbs, but not everything gets put back in it’s place like I would like. This means my craft room is a little messier than those perfect ones I see on Instagram. This may look like a bit of a mess to people, but I know where it all is and am ready to craft at a moment’s noticed. I thought it would be fun to make a sign for my craft room: Excuse the Mess, but I Craft here using my Cricut Explore Air 2.
Reasons I love my Cricut Explore Air 2
Color– I know, I know, but I absolutely love that the Cricut Explore Air 2 machine comes in so many colors. There’s a rainbow of options, to meet whatever look or color you want. I have the metallic purple, which was a Joann’s exclusive and my favorite color. I decided to make my sign metallic purple to show my love and I’m so happy with how it looks in my craft room.
Open button– This may seem silly, but I get great joy out of hitting the open button and watching the machine slowly open up. I always want to sing a big “Ahhhhh” as I know I’m about to get to work doing something I enjoy.
The Dial – I really like the dial on the top of the machine. I find it’s easy to turn, and has the main materials I use the most right there. Of course the custom setting is there, but a quick turn from vinyl to paper and I’m good to keep cutting. Especially when I’m working with lots of different materials on a project. Like this one.
Scoring Pen – I LOVE the scoring pen. Yes, the Maker has the scoring blade, but I really like how easy it is to pop in the pen and cut something in one load. There’s no swapping out the blade. Just pop in the pen and go. I love making rosettes and table cards with the scoring pen.
Wireless – I know it may seem like everything is wireless, but the fact that I can use my phone, ipad or computer to cut things is amazing to me. This was the 1st machine where I could do that and I use it for that feature all the time. When I see that blue light on the power button I know it’s time to start cutting!
