I always look forward to the holidays, part of it is the tradition and the other part is spending time with family, especially on Christmas Eve. We have lots of Christmas Eve traditions and I’m adding a new one with this Christmas Eve Family Bag using my Cricut Explore Air 2.
I have a lot of Cricut Christmas projects. Christmas Eve Family Bag, Christmas Eve Family Bag, and more but what I like about this Christmas Eve bag is it’s personalized for us. I wanted something that was festive, but about family. It was important to me that we have our family name on the bag, because these are our traditions, and we love sharing them with others and inviting them to join in on the fun so why not find a Special Delivery bag to open on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve Bag Supplies Needed:
- Canvas Laundry Bag (this one is 28×36)
- Cricut Explore Air 2 or Maker
- 12 x 24 Standard Grip Mat
- Iron on Vinyl (make sure you get rolls that are 12×24) I got of mix of Everyday and Foil Iron on
- Cricut EasyPress 2 (the 12×10 is the best for this large sized project)
- EasyPress Mat
How to make a Personalized Christmas Bag
-This project is big, so it’s important when designing in Cricut Design Space that you zoom out on the project to get the sizing and see what you’re doing. If you want to make this exact bag you can find it here: Christmas Eve Family Bag. Just make sure you add your families name!
-You’ll also want to make sure you have 12×24 Standard Grip mat, and remember to place all your iron on vinyl face down and to select Mirror image.
-After you cut and weed all your vinyl it’s time to warm up that EasyPress 2. While you’re warming it up, make sure you figure out the placement of your vinyl. When doing big projects it’s important to do this before you being ironing on the vinyl. I like to measure from the sides to make sure I’m even.
-When using different types of Iron on I like to start with the Everyday Iron on as I know I can layer that up to 3 layers. I make a point to iron on that vinyl first. Then once all of that is on I change the setting on the EasyPress 2 for Iron on Foil and work to add that.
Personalized Gifts with Cricut
I love that this is something that I can make for my family or give as a gift. It’s fun to be a part of others holidays and traditions in some way and making this Christmas Eve Bag with my Cricut is an easy way to help others create memories.
